Accessibility

We aim to make Queenswood as accessible as possible to as many visitors as possible. Accessible facilities are detailed below but we would be keen to hear of other facilities or improvements you would like to see on the site. Please get in touch using the button below.

Accessibility at Queenswood

There are a number of easy access paths with hard surfaces and no steps within the Arboretum.  So, those with limited mobility or using electric mobility vehicles (EMVs) can enjoy a circular walk.

Please help us raise funds to buy a new electric mobility vehicle to improve accessibility for visitors to Queenswood by donating here.

The car park includes a limited number of spaces reserved for Blue Badge holders. If these are full, Blue Badge holders may also park for free in any parking space. However, you MUST register on arrival at the Visitor Centre (open daily between 10:30-3:30pm) in order to park for free. If you visit outside of these times and don’t hold an annual pass, then you will need to pay for your parking at the ticket machines just before you leave.

Alternatively, why not register for up to a year for freedom to visit at any time without charge. This is valid for Herefordshire Council Blue Badge holders only and is available from the Visitor Centre.

Full Visitor Centre opening times:

10am-4pm: Every day during Herefordshire school holidays, at weekends and on bank holidays

10:30-3:30pm: On weekdays outside of Herefordshire school holidays

Our TGA Supersport Mobility Scooter is available to hire for 1-2 hours at a time in return for a £5 donation.

The scooter’s three wheel styling helps to provide good levels of comfort, stability and manoeuvrability. It is fitted with easy to operate levers and switches to control your speed and direction. And the automatic brake system slows the scooter down to a controlled stop once you let go of the operating lever. The arms of the seat lift up and the handlebars can be quickly and easily adjusted in both height and angle.

Booking

If you would like to book our scooter, please call the Visitor Centre on 01432 530088 between the times below, email us at info@queenswoodandbodenhamlake.org or take a chance  and pop in to see us on the day!

We have an accessible toilet which is open between 9am and 4pm everyday except Christmas Day. This toilet also contains our baby changing facilities.

We design our family and schools activities to be inclusive of all, regardless of ability. Therefore, please contact us if you would like to discuss specific accessibility requirements.
